There is a great difference between a flower growing in the garden and a cut flower, however ikebana-displayed, in a vase. They may superficially look the same, but only one has an Inner Flame, is in its own way embracing and exulting life.
I feel it is the same
Every, every, action is of great Significance, for, in its own, its special way, it is an Instance of God.
I can’t imagine writing, painting, photographing – let alone being with a sufferer – and not always having the underlying desire, hope, intention, that the other somehow, to some extent, will be healed by my endeavor.
The Japanese word kensho is used in Zen in the sense of “seeing one’s own true nature,” the Buddha-Nature. Coming to the realization that one is a Buddha, and that all are Buddhas: Buddhas, Buddhas – everywhere!

The Karmic Plan is implemented by The Force which designates agents (from the Latin agere, to act) to act on Its behalf.
The agents we call spirit guides.
Whatever you memorialize (a far better word than take) is Spirit in that particular form. The more you Know that, the more will the viewer.
And the very reason for photography is that the viewer will thus become Aware of the Spiritual dimension of life.
Your supposed choice of subject, of framing, of all
How can we ever understand ourselves without a Knowledge of our Shaping Forces, of the Spirit World?
And how can we understand why we exist without the belief that it is for the spirit within each of us?
What do I mean by “spiritual”?
When one is surrendered (by Spirit) to Spirit, The Force, Tao, Thy Will, Amida – whatever metaphor one chooses for the Ineffable.
Perhaps Mahler expressed it best: “One is only an instrument the Universe plays on.”
