“The Ultimate Task of the Photographer”
Look at this rose I’m holding.
Do you see it as an Instance of God?
No, you reply.
So let me turn it around, just a little.
Now do you see it as God?
Yes! I do.
The rose hasn’t changed, only your perception of it, as a result of my re-orienting it to you – of re-orienting you to it.
Everything, everyone, is such an Instance.
It is the ultimate task of the photographer as healer to so orient the viewer that every vision is Epiphanic.
