“The Spirits All Around Us”
A wise man, well acquainted with the Spirit World, reminds me of how, when a sunbeam enters a room, we suddenly see thousands of floating dust particles we had never seen there before. Well, they are nothing, he avers, compared to all the spirits around us that we would see when enlightened.
I think of him when I read this quote from The Book of the Great Decease: “there is no spot in size even as the pricking of the point of the tip of a hair, which is not pervaded by powerful spirits.”*
