“The Difference Between Shakespeare and Euripides”

The difference between Shakespeare and Euripides is that the former believed the plays were by him. Whereas Euripides believed they were through him.

And so we too get closer to Enlightenment by – through – Euripides.

But we should remember that both were guided, so Shakespeare’s plays also were through him. However he was also guided not to know this – it wasn’t Meant for him to be Enlightened this way.

Should we therefore ignore Shakespeare? Even more so we should embrace him, knowing the through is always beyond the by. And so may he enlighten us – if it is Meant to be.
