“Our Task: To Explore Our Selves”

Alexander Pope “believed that the world was governed by a divine plan but it was not our lot to understand or even descry it. Our task was not to explain life, the universe, and everything but to explore the microcosm that is the self.” [1]

All Nature is but Art, unknown to thee;
All Chance, Direction, which thou canst not see.

All we can do is for us to explore our selves. Hence:

Know then thyself, presume not God to scan;
The proper study of mankind is man.

And, I am led to believe – can I say Directed? –, the more we each study our selves, the more we will come to Know our Deep Unconscious of Pure, Pure Love; our Divinity; our Souls – and thus everyone’s.

Then we may proclaim, like Blake:

Everything that lives is Holy.
