To truly proclaim, “I Love You,” you must first feel Beloved. So, “I know You Love Me” always precedes and leads to “I Love You.” Therefore, don’t think of giving love to the audience, but of receiving it from them. Then – and only then – can you give it. For true love is always a grateful reciprocation of the love you know you are being given. And, basically, the audience is always your mother. Feel loved by her – and then give it back to her.

Similarly, you love your wife because she loves you. And she loves you because you love her. True love is always mutual: as mother and child.
