“In Praise of Determinism”

I believe that All is Determined—by some Master Determiner or Planner—or whatever word you choose to use. Einstein similarly believed that we have no free will, although he impishly added that we should act as if we did. And Nietzsche believed so as well. Adding that the concept of free will was invented by those who want to punish us for our sins, reminding ourselves that they were guided to invent it. It was also Determined.

Once we acknowledge, in our own hearts, that everything we think and do—everything—is Determined, then there can be no good or evil. We can at last stop judging ourselves and others. The belief in no free will sets us free to love and to be loved. No guilt, no depression. Each of us acting out, as Determined, his own particular Inner Perfection.
