“Humanity’s True Heaven”
Ezra Pound translates Cavalcanti:
“You seem humility’s true heaven.”
(Sonnet IV)
And when the humanity – the Jen of Confucius, so loved by Pound – comes through then you seem to be humanity’s true heaven.
And not just seem –
“Seems, madam? Nay, it is. I know not ‘seems.’”
(Hamlet I.ii.76)
The Radiance, the Emanation, of Jen is Heaven, truly Heaven.
