Everyone needs to be healed – to be made whole. To be utterly one with the Soul within. And it is, I maintain, the primary role of the performer to find the Soul of the composer and reveal it to the audience, that they may be better able to find their own.

The usual way to steady a camera is to mount it on a tripod or monopod. Another way – less conventional – is to attach to it a cord or strap which is then pulled tight, the other end being held by the foot.

It is said of all noh drama that “it sets out not to tell a story but to create a mood.” Well, to quite an extent my art is Japanese-inspired so perhaps it does resemble a noh play for it certainly tells no story and I hope for it to create a mood which for want of a better word I call Matrophilia.

Many of my paintings have a dot; usually just one, sometimes many. I am always astounded by the power of a dot. Just one alone on a canvas seems to have more power than many lines. To me, my most satisfying paintings consist of but one dot and one curved line. Both placed as Guided.
