Frank Davis

A native New Englander from Massachusetts, Frank Davis is a retired professor of English who lives in the Hudson Valley of New York State. His interest in poetry was rekindled and nurtured by Dr. Diamond, whose student he became in the 1980s. This poem from the 1992, written on an extended period of study with Dr. Diamond in London, is an eloquent tribute to his unique gifts as a therapist.

The Magician

He pulls rabbits from hats;
Silk scarves flow from his sleeves,
And snow-white doves
Flutter in flight through the air.
His talent is not secret –
His power is love.
