“A Tribute to John Kerridge”
My dear friend and psychiatric mentor, John Kerridge, used to quote this to me:
We all stumble through life
as best we can:
the mark of a good therapist
is that he stumbles a little less,
and so can help those
who stumble a little more.
And John, dear John, sixty years after hearing you, I seem to be stumbling a little less and so, hopefully, helping a little more.
To-day, on my mother’s birthday,
I also thought of you.
Grateful always to her
– and to you.
