The Reason for Art

Facets of a Diamond: Reflections of a Healer
I have spent many thousands of hours researching and examining thousands upon thousands of musical performances, dances, paintings, photographs, sculptures, poems, and books. There is so much about the Life Energy to be learned in all these acts of creation. And I have used this knowledge time and time again to help people play Bach better, and Beethoven, and Arlen, and Gershwin, and Rodgers and Hart.
But that is never what I have really wanted to do. I have wanted to learn all that so as to distill it down to its pure essence, to a simple single song that can be delivered to a sufferer, anywhere in the world, in any situation, regardless of language. Delivered in such a way that his suffering is overcome.
That is all that matters in all of art, for that is the reason for its existence. And that should be all that matters in us, for that is the reason for our existence.
